Terms and Conditions of Enrolment

It’s really important to us that you know how everything works at Dundalk School of Music. Please take some time to read through the school’s Terms and Conditions before enrolling.

Fees Payment


We accept Debit/Credit cards and Cash as payment. Please be aware that teachers will not accept deposits/fees from students. Payment via the office only.

o You can make a card payment by phone by calling 085 7213077.
o You can make a Card payment In-House *at your regular lesson time only (or by prior arrangement).

o We accept cash payments *at your regular lesson time only (or by prior arrangement).

o We do not accept cheque, bank draft or postal order.

Attendance Policy

  • Payment must be made for all classes, whether taken or missed.
  • Missed lessons will not be rescheduled or refunded. The term has to be paid in full whether all classes have been taken or not.  Missed classes will only be made up in exceptional circumstances such as prolonged sickness of more than 4 weeks. A doctors’ certificate should be provided.In the event of a student not being able to play an instrument as a result of an injury e.g. broken arm, theory and aural test classes will be provided. If you are not going to make a class, as a courtesy to the teacher, we ask that the school be notified by text message to 085 7213077 before the scheduled class time.Teachers may only be contacted through the school’s phone numbers, 085 7213077 (see office hours below). We would kindly ask not to request the teacher’s private phone number, email address and social media information. This policy violates our regulations. We are in the process of setting up a way for you to send messages re. your lesson activities.
  • If a student is late for a lesson, up to 15 minutes, the remainder of the half-hour lesson will be completed. In the event of a teacher not being able to make a class, the school will provide a substitute teacher. If the school cannot provide a substitute teacher, the class will be arranged to another day or your account will be credited. A rearranged lesson will not be rearranged a second time and therefore the lesson will be forfeited. 
  • If you are not going to make a class, as a courtesy to the teacher, we ask that the school be notified by text message to 085 7213077 before the scheduled class time.
  • If a student misses a class they are not entitled to a refund for that class as the teacher’s time is booked for that time for the whole semester, and the teacher will be at the school for the designated time of the class whether the student is or not.I

 There is no supervision for students before or after classes, parents/guardians have an obligation to collect their children at the appropriate time. The Dundalk School of Music is not responsible for its students outside of their designated lesson time.

Toilets
Toilet facilities at the school are strictly for the use teachers and registered students only.


What about Car Parking?

First of all, it’s important that families who attend our school feel safe.

Please ensure that you do not park across the front doorway of the school. This can pose a real danger for younger children exiting the school who may not be able to see oncoming traffic.



Photo/Video Release Policy
Please understand that there may be photos & videos taken while participating in aDundalk School of Music Club Activities and public performances The School has your permission to use these photos on their social media sites, websites and other marketing materials. You should contact the DSM in writing if I would like a photo or video of yourself or your child removed and subsequently withdraw from all future images and videos being used.

General Terms & Conditions

1. The Dundalk School of Music does not accept certain types of behaviour, such as bullying, violence, sarcasm, name-calling, favouritism, abusive language or gestures, negative criticism of values, beliefs and opinions, and negative highlighting of physical, social cultural or emotional differences, and will intervene to ensure the fair and equitable treatment of all. Good behaviour and respect for teachers and other students is expected.

2. There is no supervision for students before or after classes, parents/guardians are expected to collect their children at the appropriate time.

3. Food and chewing gum are not allowed on the school premises.

4. The Dundalk School of Music reserve the right to refuse enrolment if a student or parent is continually disruptive, causes damage to the school premises / equipment, or puts the safety of themselves or others at risk. The Dundalk School of Music reserves the right to discontinue the enrolment of any student who misses three consecutive lessons without notification, has a pattern of absences or who is constantly late.

5. Parents who wish to talk to teachers (by appointment only) at the beginning of the class if they have concerns, rather than at the start of the next student’s class. Parents should be aware of all our school policies.
