Make-up lessons/refunds will not be given in the case of student absence. As a courtesy to the teacher, we ask that the school office be notified by text to 085 7213 077 if a student is to be absent.  If a student is more than 15 minutes late the teacher may cancel the lesson.

If a student cannot come to their lesson,  the lesson is non-transferable to another family member or any other individual.

If the teacher is unable to give a lesson or class, the student will be given a make lesson up with their teacher or substitute teacher.

Teachers are contracted and paid for the time they are booked to be at the school for your scheduled lesson. Repeated late payment, (please note payment dates on your chosen payment plan), or non-payment, will result in termination of lessons and your place may be allocated to a student on the waiting list.

Please note that although we will endeavour to do so, we may not be able to contact all students or parents regarding emergency closure. Please check our website home page or our Facebook or Instagram pages for updates. Red alert days cannot be made up on the teaching calendar, unfortunately.

ENROLMENT / RE-ENROLMENT: Enrolment for lessons and courses requires a completed enrolment form and applicable deposits and or fees. We are unable to hold places provisionally without payment of fees.

  • If absolutely necessary, the school reserves the right to make changes to teachers’ timetables where necessary.
  • Current time slots may not be guaranteed for the new school year.
    • Private Lessons. Although we schedule new students in order of enrolment and make every effort to suit student preferences, scheduling of private lessons will depend on available time slots with the most suitable teacher(s).
    • Partner and Small Group Lessons. Students enrolling for partner lessons (two students) and small group lessons (three or four students) are responsible for forming their own groups. Booking partner and small group lessons cannot be confirmed until enrolment forms and tuition fees are received from all group members.

For the new school year, we require that all students – those re-enrolling as well as those new to the school – fully complete new enrolment forms. GDPR data protection legislation means that we cannot apply students’ enrolment information from the previous year to the new school year.

HEALTH CONDITIONS/ LEARNING DIFFICULTIES: The school must be informed if a student suffers from any long term, serious illness or allergy, or if they are on medication. It is particularly important that teachers know if a student suffers from asthma, diabetes or epilepsy so that they can respond as required in the event of an unexpected attack.

It is also important that teachers are alerted to any hearing, sight or learning difficulties that might affect a student's ability to respond in a lesson. Of course such information will be treated confidentially.

SEASONAL/ OTHER ILLNESS SYMPTOMS: If a student suffers from what is termed an 'officially' contagious illness' (e.g. measles, chickenpox, flu, mumps, etc.) we must be informed immediately. To prevent the spread of contagious illnesses, students should not attend classes if they are feeling unwell. Teachers reserve the right to not teach a student who appears unwell.

Out of consideration for others, please do not come yourself nor bring your child to the lesson if signs of illness are evident (i.e. fever, sneezing, coughing, red eyes, sore throat, etc.)

In the interest of best business practices the Dundalk School of Music reserves the right to amend the above policies. at any time.

It’s really important to us that you know how everything works at Dundalk School of Music. Please take some time to read through the school Policies for students enrolled at the school.

By enrolling in The Dundalk School of Music and/or making any payments regarding fees or deposits, you are acknowledging and agreeing to the School’s policies as outlined here.
